Director of Global Merchandising for DTC will act as the credible voice of Global Merchandising in their respective businesses, leading and executing the merchandising vision for Crocs, the industry-leading casual footwear brand specializing in comfortable, fun, innovative and irreverent product lines designed to surprise and delight our millions of loyal Crocs fans and future Crocs fans.

 The Director of Global Merchandising sets the global merchandising vision, strategy and assortment plan for Full Line and Outlet Retail stores and the ecommerce platform. This role drives the global go-to-market strategy and process.  The Director drives results which achieve brand and revenue goals, achieve sales growth and profit maximization, and align the regions to the global Crocs brand with a strong consumer focus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of global tools and processes that drive brand cohesion, and alignment to the strategic merchandising plan.

  • Clear and regular communication with key global and regional cross-functional partners.

  • Establish global retail assortment for that will maximize brand cohesion and deliver the revenue goals.

  • Counsel regions on alignment to the global assortment and approve regional exceptions.

  • Provide a clear point of view on individual SKU commerciality and contribute to the finalization of the global all channel assortment including colorways, suggested retail prices, and marketing style selection.

  • Gain a current in-depth understanding of the retail landscape and identify and validate product needs, opportunities and gaps.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create optimal footwear assortments and strategies that support growth and brand objectives.

  • Drive the alignment and execution of seasonal key stories in product assortment, in-store merchandising, and marketing.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations based on analysis around key metrics that will inform key stakeholders, drive the business and create value for the Crocs brand portfolio.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations on licensed priorities to the product creation team based on market analysis and consumer trends.

  • Lead the contract negotiation and administration process for Crocs Licensing.

  • Monitor progress against minimum guarantees at a regional level and counsel regions on actions needed to close the gap.

  • Update licensors on a regular basis as to product and property selling.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College or University degree

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in merchandising, product creation and/or retail; footwear experience preferred

  • Experience in International Markets, including Europe and Asia
  • Retail specific planning or merchandising experience required

  • Proven leadership and people management skills

  • Proven track record of developing and executing a successful merchandising strategy

  • Proven ability to manage an open to buy process, exceptional retail math skills

  • Demonstrated experience and success with strategic planning and business planning

  • Proven ability to successfully work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment

  • Knowledge of international fashion/trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts

  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Fluency in English required
